Introducing the Neurodiversity Community group!
Our goal: To foster a sense of pride and community among neurodivergent colleagues in Botany and Zoology by providing a space for mutual support, while promoting self-advocacy and awareness.
Who: Anyone who identifies as autistic, ADHD, and/or neurodivergent, regardless of whether or not you have a formal diagnosis.
What: A safe, inclusive, and supportive space where neurodivergent individuals can connect, share experiences, and exchange strategies for managing life in and outside of grad school.
Join us Tuesday May 20 at 3:30-4:30pm in MSL 101 for our first gathering, which will be a discussion about masking. What is masking, how do we identify that we're doing it, when do we do it, and how does it make us feel? BYOF (bring your own fidget)!
Future potential themes include: Time management, Self-advocacy, Social difficulties, Burn-out, Accommodations, and Identity disclosure. Have other ideas? Let us know!
