Visual neuroethology

My research involves the development of in vivo electrophysiology to investigate how the brain uses global visual motion (i.e. optic flow) to guide locomotion. I record pretectal neurons in zebra finches flying through a virtual reality environment to explore how optic flow pathways encode self-induced visual motion.
