Throughout your program, please make sure that you are registered for the thesis course for your program:
- ZOOL 649 Doctoral Dissertation (for PhD Students)
- ZOOL 549 MSc Thesis (for MSc Students)
You should be enrolled in these courses each term for the duration of your program. There are no classes associated with these courses, but enrollment is required to assure continuous registration in the Zoology Program.
For registration in ZOOL 500 Directed Studies, students must complete and submit a Directed Studies Form to the Zoology Graduate Program.
Registration in ZOOL 500 Directed Studies must be approved by a Graduate Advisor. ZOOL 500 is a way for students to study with different faculty and expand their knowledge into a specific area that is not covered by an existing course. The workload is similar to that of other courses, as is the expected grade. The grade assigned must be based, in part, on written work.
A minimum of 68% must be obtained in any course taken by a graduate student. However, up to 6 credits of coursework with grades of 60-67% may be counted towards a master's program without penalty.
